A good idea on paper has to hold up in the field. That is the perspective I bring to a conversation about your home: how the spaces work, how the plan responds to the site, and what the decisions mean for construction.
Farris is based in Murfreesboro, serving Middle Tennessee. Our focus is custom homes, builder-led residential design, and preconstruction—the connected work of getting a home right from the beginning.
I care about where the money goes. Some choices make daily life better. Others add complexity without adding much value. Part of my job is helping you see the difference.
My experience as a former home inspector taught me to look beyond the finish: where water travels, how the assemblies connect, and what a homeowner will need to maintain. I bring that perspective to the homes we build.
I would rather explain a concern early than let a client discover it later. Your priorities guide the work, and honest disagreement can be part of protecting them. Good stewardship means treating the land, the budget, and the years of ownership as one responsibility.
